I felt like I wanted the ground to swallow me up, though. It didn’t feel right being there for such an intimate moment, you know?” So I grabbed my things and started quietly toward the door. Then Dottie called out, ‘Wait child, aren’t you forgetting something?’ Of course, I turned around and kissed Dottie softly on the cheek. As I did I whispered into her ear …”
