Mommy continued telling the love story about her and Daddy and their budding love. “Then, I said, ‘Hey, you know what? We have such an unconventional love, who cares if we keep to the tradition of not seeing each other the day of our wedding!?!?’ Well, this made your Dad very, very happy. I’ll never forget it, he said, ‘You mean it? You mean we can just get ready on our wedding day just like this? We can have the same fun and laughter that day that we have every time we get ready together?’ I said, ‘Of course! Why not?’ But then I added, ‘We’ll be late to our own wedding, though, you know that, right?’ And with that, we both just fell on the bed laughing! So, we finally finished getting ready. We were ready to head out the door, and your Dad, always so gracious and thoughtful, realized that we didn’t have a gift to give to the hostess. This kind of thing always upset your Dad. He never liked to go any where empty handed. So we dropped by the florist and got some fresh flowers, a gorgeous arrangement that your Dad perfected on the way to the club. He was so handy with things like that. I was driving of course and he was arranging flowers in a moving car, in a cocktail dress. He amazed me. He would make that arrangement perfect and not get a drop of water on him! Oh, did I mention we bought Georgia’s car?”
